Eton Messy
Closing out at 1480, Eton Messy is a British house DJ collective founded by Ed Byass and Charlie Wedd, who began DJing together at university in Bristol before building the Eton Messy name into one of the most-subscribed house music channels on YouTube, eventually surpassing 400,000 subscribers. Beyond curating and uploading music, the pair have run their own DJ nights, including an early residency at The Bank in Stokes Croft, and continued performing Eton Messy DJ sets at clubs and festivals internationally, adapting their track selections to different countries and crowds as their bookings expanded. Their mix output includes a long-running Messy Mix series spanning house, deep house, tech house and disco, and in 2015 they launched the Eton Messy record label, which has gone on to sign early releases from artists including CamelPhat, Illyus & Barrientos, Dusky and Maribou State. The imprint marked its tenth anniversary in 2022 with the compilation 10 Years Of Eton Messy, featuring contributions from Bondax, Karma Kid and Simmerdown among others. Combining a YouTube-driven platform with an active DJ and label operation, Byass and Wedd have built Eton Messy into a recognizable name spanning curation, performance and artist development within UK house music.
