Eric Prydz
Eric Sheridan Prydz is a Swedish DJ from Täby in Stockholm County whose career began in 2001 and reached global attention through Call on Me in 2004 and Pjanoo in 2008. Though part of an informal pre-Swedish House Mafia circle, he did not join the group officially. His DJ work moves across house, techno, progressive house and tech house, pairing long-form club music with ambitious audiovisual productions. He is known for the Pryda snare, a compressed, sustained snare sample used to mark track progressions and later widely sampled across EDM.
Prydz launched Eric Prydz Presents Pryda at Ministry of Sound in London in 2012 and runs the Pryda, Pryda Friends, Pryda Presents and Mouseville labels. In 2015, he became the first DJ to have a set featured as a Beats 1 One Mix. His EPIC series has transformed the scale of his performances: EPIC 3.0 reached Madison Square Garden in 2014 with hologram and laser elements, EPIC 6.0 brought an LED holosphere to Tomorrowland in 2019, and he presented HOLO at Coachella in 2023. Other appearances include Glastonbury.
Prydz was named Electronic Music Awards DJ of the Year in 2017 and received Grammy nominations in 2008 and 2013 for Best Remixed Recording. In March 2025, he played Call On Me for the first time in 20 years at 20 Years of PRYDA in Austin.
