Eddie Halliwell
Eddie Halliwell is an English DJ known for techno, house and trance sets built on fast mixing, live sampler re-edits and scratching. He took a residency at Judgement Sundays in Ibiza in 2001 and became a fixture at Cream's Amnesia nights on the island, while also playing the 100th-show celebration of his own Fire It Up party at Sankeys in Manchester in 2011.
Halliwell hosted a regular dance music show on BBC Radio 1 from 2005 to 2008 and co-fronted the station's Residency series, and he has recorded seven guest mixes for Pete Tong's Essential Mix, including a live broadcast from Creamfields in 2011. His Fire It Up podcast and radio show, which he continues to host, had reached an estimated 15 million listeners worldwide by February 2024.
He launched the FIUR record label in 2011 and released a mix compilation, Toolroom Knights, through Mark Knight's Toolroom label in 2012. Halliwell placed in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll for four consecutive years, reaching numbers 17, 17, 16 and 19 between 2005 and 2008, and was voted ninth in Mixmag's global DJ poll in 2009, underlining a run of mainstream recognition alongside his club and radio work.
