Eagles & Butterflies
Eagles & Butterflies is the alias of UK-born, Los Angeles-based producer and DJ Chris Barratt, whose output moves across downtempo, techno and house, with releases through Innervisions, Bedrock, Exit Strategy, Sapiens and his own imprint, Art Imitating Life. He has remixed artists including Underworld, RY X, Agoria, Moby and Ludovico Einaudi, and has said his real passion lies in working with live musicians, singers and songwriters, turning down the majority of remix requests he receives because he wants material built around a full song rather than just a sample or hook.
His association with the Berlin-rooted Innervisions label places him within a scene known for deep, melodic techno and house sounds favored at clubs and festivals across Europe, and he has performed at events including Cityfox's New Year's Marathon in Brooklyn. Barratt has also worked on a radio show and collaborated with John Digweed on an EP, extending his reach within the melodic house and techno community beyond his own DJ bookings.
His SKETCH mix series, released online, showcases his selections and programming style directly, offering a documented run of recorded sets distinct from his studio catalogue. Splitting his time between studio work near his home and touring, Barratt continues to build his profile as both a producer for hire and a touring DJ within the underground house and techno circuit.
