DJ Snake — EDM, Trap & Moombahton DJDJ Snake
William Sami Étienne Grigahcine, known as DJ Snake, is a French DJ born in Paris to Algerian parents and raised in Ermont outside the city. He started DJing at 14 and producing at 19, taking an early job at Paris's Le Bains Douches before work on Lady Gaga's Born This Way and Artpop preceded his solo breakthrough. His sets combine EDM, trap, moombahton and dubstep, often bringing hip-hop beats into European dance production. Turn Down for What established him as a solo artist in 2013, followed by global hits including Lean On and Taki Taki.
He has played Coachella, where AlunaGeorge and MØ appeared during his 2015 set, and has become a resident DJ at Zouk Nightclub and AYU Dayclub in Resorts World Las Vegas. In Paris, he played a special Accor Hotel Arena event in 2018 and performed at the Arc de Triomphe in 2017 for Olympics-bid promotion. DJ Snake founded Premiere Classe Records in March 2018. His award record includes Grammy nominations for Born This Way and Turn Down for What, along with Billboard Music Award wins for Turn Down for What and Lean On.
By November 2015, Lean On had briefly become Spotify's most-streamed song ever, and its video later passed three billion YouTube views. His DJ career connects early Paris club experience with a global, crossover-ready festival and residency presence.
