DJ Premier
DJ Premier, born Christopher Edward Martin in Houston, Texas, is an American DJ and producer closely associated with New York hip hop. As one half of Gang Starr with Guru, he made turntable scratching and sample-based production central to the group's sound on albums including Daily Operation. His scratch-heavy style also shaped productions and remixes for artists across several generations of hip hop. Premier has continued recording and performing while maintaining the boom-bap approach established during Gang Starr's career.
