DJ Nu-Mark
DJ Nu-Mark is the stage name of Mark Potsic, a Los Angeles turntablist and producer best known as one half of the production and DJ engine behind hip-hop group Jurassic 5. Active since the mid-1990s, he built his reputation scratching and mixing on Jurassic 5 tours before extending his profile through solo mix work, including tribute-style blend sets combining catalogues from acts such as the Pharcyde.
Nu-Mark has released solo material through Hot Plate Records and Up Above Records, and remains closely associated with West Coast turntablist culture rooted in vinyl digging; interviews describe him amassing a personal collection built from tens of thousands of records bought in his teenage years. He has appeared on podcasts and long-form interviews discussing his career, sample-based production process, and DJ history with contemporaries including Talib Kweli.
His body of work spans DJ sets, remix mixtapes, and production credits, keeping him active across live turntablism and studio work more than three decades after Jurassic 5's formation. He continues to release free mixes blending catalog tracks from groups he has worked alongside, sustaining his reputation as a working DJ rather than solely a producer.
