About DJ Chus

DJ Chus, born Jesús López Esteban in Madrid, is a Spanish house DJ and producer who began DJing at sixteen and has worked in electronic music since 1994. He opened Madrid's Teatro Kapital and served as a resident DJ at Kadoc, a well-known club in Portugal's Algarve region, establishing his reputation within Spain's early house scene. In 2001, Chus co-founded Stereo Productions alongside fellow DJ and producer Pablo Ceballos and manager Carlos Caliço, a label that became a vehicle for his progressive house collaborations with Ceballos under the Chus & Ceballos name, including releases such as “Afrika” and “Iberican Sound.” He has also worked closely with David Penn on garage house-leaning tracks, including 1997's “Get Funky,” extending his catalog across house's more soulful and garage-adjacent corners. Spanish outlet El Mundo has profiled Chus as a figure central to Spanish house music's rise in the Americas, reflecting a touring career that has taken his sound beyond Europe. His decades-long run producing and DJing under the Stereo Productions banner situates him as one of the more established names to emerge from Spain's house scene, with a catalog built on both solo productions and long-running collaborative partnerships.
