Dennis Sheperd — Melodic Trance DJ & ProducerDennis Sheperd
Dennis Sheperd, born Dennis Schäfer in Essen and now based in Berlin, is a German trance DJ and producer who first drew attention in 2007 with the production “A Tribute to Life.” That track's title became the name of his own radio show, which has aired weekly since January 2014 on the internet station DI.FM, with Sheperd serving as resident DJ presenting two-hour episodes on a rotating schedule. His mix compilation work includes “Techno Club Vol.
38,” co-mixed with Talla 2XLC in 2012, and a High Contrast Recordings compilation released the same year, placing him within Germany's trance and progressive scene as both a producer and a curator of other artists' tracks. Active since the mid-2000s, Sheperd built his reputation through consistent studio releases that supported bookings on the international trance circuit, with his sound centred on melodic and uplifting progressive trance.
His ongoing “A Tribute to Life” radio residency has become his most consistent public-facing platform, giving him a recurring showcase for both original material and selections from other trance producers. Sheperd's move from Essen to Berlin coincided with the growth of his radio presence, and he remains active within Germany's trance community through the show and continued studio output more than fifteen years into his career.
