Denis Sulta
Hector Barbour, performing as Denis Sulta, is a Glasgow-born DJ and producer whose career began at Rubadub, the city's influential record shop, where he learned to produce and DJ alongside colleagues steeped in the local scene. He earned regular DJ sets at Sub Club, the venue located around the corner from Rubadub, before his early productions were discovered by Dan Monox of Dixon Basement Avenue Jams, leading to his debut EP under the alias Atlus. He went on to release through the Glasgow label Numbers and founded his own label and touring brand, Sulta Selects, which grew into a global tour successful enough to earn him a curated stage at FLY Open Air Festival.
His BBC Radio 1 residency placed him alongside artists such as Jayda G and Charlotte de Witte in the station's rotation of dance music hosts. Time Out has described his DJ style as euphoric and hands-in-the-air, built for a young, party-driven crowd that follows his Glasgow-rooted but internationally touring sets. His 2019 EP Aye Spoake Te Sumwuhn & They Listenhd was described at the time as his biggest work to date, extending a catalogue built alongside his club residencies and festival dates.
Denis Sulta continues to perform internationally while running Sulta Selects as both a label and touring brand.
