About Deep Dish

Deep Dish are Ali Shirazinia, known separately as Dubfire, and Sharam Tayebi, an Iranian-American duo based in Washington D.C. who formed their partnership in 1992 and went on to be ranked among the top five DJs in the world by DJ Magazine in the early 2000s. Their remix of Dido's Thank You won the Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording in 2002, a rare instance of a DJ-focused remix earning mainstream recognition alongside their club and festival bookings.

Deep Dish became known for genre-crossing marathon sets that moved between house, techno and progressive sounds without settling into a single lane, a style documented on their contribution to the Global Underground mix series, GU049: Dublin. The pair ran their own labels, Deep Dish and Yoshitoshi, using them as an outlet for the tracks that anchored their DJ sets through the 1990s and 2000s. After splitting as a duo in 2006 to pursue solo careers, Shirazinia as Dubfire and Tayebi under his own name, Deep Dish reunited in 2014 to resume joint appearances on the international festival and club circuit.

Their catalogue and reputation as boundary-crossing selectors made them one of the most closely watched American DJ exports of their era, with a touring history that spanned major clubs and festivals across the US and Europe.
