Dash Berlin — Melodic Trance & Progressive House DJDash Berlin
Dash Berlin is the Dutch trance project led by Jeffrey Sutorius of The Hague, initially formed with producers Eelke Kalberg and Sebastiaan Molijn in 2006 and 2007. Sutorius had already been performing in the Dutch underground scene since 1995. The project became associated with melodic trance and progressive house, entering a wider international audience after Armin van Buuren included Till the Sky Falls Down on his Universal Religion mix album. Dash Berlin went on to headline Sunset Music Festival in Sri Lanka in December 2012, Ultra Chile and Ultra Buenos Aires in February 2013, and a broad run of A State of Trance 600 events in Den Bosch, Mexico City, Minsk, Sofia, Beirut and Guatemala.
The group founded Aropa Records in 2009, while the A State of Trance audience voted Waiting the second-best trance track of 2009. Dash Berlin won Highest New Entry at the 2010 DJ Mag Top 100 ceremony at Ministry of Sound in London and reached eighth at the first Amsterdam-hosted ceremony in 2011, followed by seventh in 2012. A prolonged trademark dispute reshaped the project after 2018. A January 2026 appeal restored Sutorius's legal right to perform under the Dash Berlin name, and he returned to the stage under that name later in 2026.
Sutorius cites Sven Väth, Oliver Lieb and Sander Kleinenberg as inspirations. The project remains rooted in a long, festival-facing trance tradition.
