Danny Howells — Progressive & House DJ

Danny Howells, born in Hastings, England, in 1970, began DJing at local clubs in the late 1980s before his career changed direction in 1991, when Bedrock founder John Digweed heard one of his mixtapes and invited him to join the Bedrock club nights. Howells spent nine years as Digweed's warm-up DJ at Bedrock, traveling with the night until it settled at Heaven in London, and his first performances outside the UK, in the Netherlands, earned him a large early following. He went on to hold a residency at Twilo in New York City and became a regular across Renaissance, Cream and Ministry of Sound, with his mix album Global Underground 027: Miami capturing a set he played at Club Space in Miami on 31 October 2004. His mix series began with Nightlife Report 1: Mick Boskamp Presents Danny Howells in 1998 on ID&T, and he later built the long-running Nocturnal Frequencies series, including studio mix albums released in 2007 and 2010. After leaving Bedrock and Ministry of Sound following the release of a Nocturnal Frequencies album, Howells launched the Dig Deeper label in 2008, naming it after his own long-running club night and continuing a career built primarily on progressive and house DJ sets across three decades of touring.
