Cut Killer
Cut Killer, born Anouar Hajoui in Chelles, discovered rap through Radio 7 and Radio Nova before watching Dee Nasty perform at Le Globo in 1988, an experience that pushed him toward turntablism with the hip-hop association IZB. He finished fourth at the DMC France DJ championship, then worked as a touring DJ for MC Solaar and scratched on Akhenaton's solo album Métèque et Mat, appearing on screen as the DJ in Mathieu Kassovitz's 1995 film La Haine.
In the mid-1990s he adapted the New York mixtape format for France, first on cassette and later CD, releasing roughly twenty mixed albums under the Hip Hop Soul Party series that launched on MCA in 1996 and earned him multiple gold and platinum certifications alongside DJ Abdel. For around fifteen years he has hosted his own Cutkiller Show on Skyrock, France's leading hip-hop-focused station, and he also appeared on Radio Nova and MTV's Shake Ton Booty.
He joined Funkmaster Flex's DJ Big Dawg Pitbulls and 50 Cent's Shadyville DJ's crews, and has scored film and television work including La Squale and the Baskup - Tony Parker animated series. Cut Killer continues to headline celebrity events, including Cannes Festival parties and high-profile weddings.
