About Chus & Ceballos
Chus & Ceballos, the Madrid-formed Spanish DJ duo of Jesus Lopez Esteban and Pablo Ceballos, who began working together after Esteban had already built a residency at Teatro Kapital, one of Madrid's early house music clubs, where he started playing at age 16. Ceballos, meanwhile, was pursuing production work and would bring demos to the club before the pair decided to collaborate in the studio, a partnership formalised when they founded the Stereo Productions label together with manager Carlos Calico in 2001. As a duo, Chus & Ceballos pioneered a sound they branded the "Iberican Sound," fusing tribal percussion, soulful vocals and Latin groove into a tech-house-adjacent style that influenced a generation of producers and DJs.
Their marathon DJ sets became known for capturing that Iberian character live, playing venues including Stereo Montreal and Space Miami across a touring career spanning more than two decades. Esteban announced the duo's split in 2020 to pursue a solo project as DJ Chus, before the pair reunited for "The Reunion Tour" following a five-year hiatus, playing dates including Flash in Washington D.C. and Heart in Miami.
The duo's catalogue also includes releases on Nervous Records and Toolroom, extending their reach across established house labels throughout their career.
