Chuckie
Clyde Sergio Narain, known as Chuckie, is a Surinamese-Dutch DJ born in Paramaribo and based in the Netherlands. He began DJing in 1993 at Voltage club in The Hague, later becoming a pioneer of the Dutch house movement and building the Dirty Dutch brand and label, Dirty Dutch Music. His sound is often described as dirty trance or Dirty Dutch: high-pitched lead synths, Latin-inspired rhythms and samples layered over club-focused production. That approach has also taken in electro and progressive house.
Chuckie's venue profile includes residencies at Blacklist and Omnia in Las Vegas, where he became a new resident from March 2015. He has also hosted the Dirty Dutch stage at Mysteryland, extending the concept from his own DJ sets into a festival-stage identity. A notable early milestone came in 2008, when he opened Sensation at Amsterdam ArenA, an appearance he described as a childhood dream. His media work includes a Wednesday rap, trap and hip-hop program on KissFresh and residency at FG DJ Radio in France.
He received Best Urban DJ in 2004 and a Best Club DJ Award around 2005. Chuckie's longstanding DJ appeal comes from fusing Dutch house power with Latin-inflected rhythmic detail, whether in a Las Vegas residency, radio slot or the Dirty Dutch festival format.
