Christopher Lawrence
Christopher Lawrence is an American progressive trance and psytrance DJ and producer based in Los Angeles, active since the late 1990s and recognized as a central figure in building an American audience for trance music. He has released ten mix CDs since 1997, including Trilogy, Part One: Empire and United States of Trance through the label Moonshine Music, and his catalog includes two Billboard Top 10 artist albums, All or Nothing and UnHooked.
Lawrence won "Best American DJ" at the International Dance Music Awards and "America's Best DJ" from DJ Times in 2008, while also placing in the top ten of DJ Mag's annual readers' poll during the height of his career. He founded the label Pharmacy Music, now America's leading psy-trance and underground trance imprint, home to a roster of producers who regularly chart on Beatport, and later launched a companion label, Pharmacy Plus.
Lawrence has partnered with fellow trance veteran John 00 Fleming under the name Fleming & Lawrence for club dates across North America, performing at festivals including Dreamstate and Fright Night and open-to-close sets from Buenos Aires to Hollywood, New York and Toronto. He hosts the recurring show Pharmacy Radio, continuing to broadcast mixes and highlight new producers within the psy and underground trance scenes he has championed for more than two decades from his Los Angeles base.
