Chocolate Puma — House DJ & Producer

Chocolate Puma are a Dutch DJ and production duo from Haarlem, North Holland, consisting of René ter Horst, known as DJ Zki, and Gaston Steenkist, known as Dobre, who have recorded dance music under a series of group names since the early 1990s. The pair have been active since 1991, with the Chocolate Puma moniker becoming their consistent public identity particularly after the release of “I Wanna Be U.” Their earliest hit, “Give It Up,” recorded as The Good Men in 1993, built its house arrangement around samba-styled percussion inspired by a Sérgio Mendes recording and reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, number 71 on the Hot 100 and number 5 on the UK Singles Chart upon its re-release later that year. Their work has been featured on DJ mixes released through Hooj Choons, Global Underground and Ministry of Sound, three of the most prominent mix-series brands in club culture, reflecting the duo's standing within international DJ circles. They followed their early success with the studio album Father in the Bathroom as The Good Men in 1994 and continued releasing house material under various names before consolidating under Chocolate Puma. Now marketed as one of Holland's most established DJ and production acts, the duo have built a career spanning more than three decades within Dutch and international house music.
