Charlotte de Witte
Charlotte Aloïs de Witte is a Belgian techno DJ and producer born in Ghent in 1992 whose dark, stripped-back acid and minimal techno sound has anchored her career since she began DJing local clubs at 16 under the alias Raving George. Two years later, in 2011, she won a DJ competition that let her open the main stage at a major festival, a breakthrough that accelerated her path from small Belgian towns like Wippelgem, where she played her first gig in a youth club, into international bookings across the Netherlands, France and the rest of Europe.
De Witte founded her own label, KNTXT, giving her direct control over the release schedule supporting her club and festival sets, and her earlier work also appeared on Crux Records. Her rise placed her among a small group of women headlining major techno festivals, a point she has discussed directly in interviews addressing sexism within the scene.
De Witte's DJ sets are built around the same dark, acid-inflected techno style that defines her production catalogue, a consistency that has helped her sets translate directly from studio releases to club and mainstage performances. Continuing to tour internationally, she has become one of the most closely followed figures to emerge from Belgium's techno scene in the past decade.
