Carlos Manaca
Carlos Manaca, the Portuguese DJ whose career began in 1986 in Barreiro near Lisbon, played Cais 447 in Matosinhos from 1992 to 1995 and then Rock's Club in Vila Nova de Gaia from 1995 to 1996, two venues central to Porto-area club culture in the 1990s. In 1999 he founded Magna Recordings, a label he has used both to release his own productions and to support other Portuguese house artists, and he later launched the Magna Recordings Radio Show to carry his DJ mixes to a wider audience. Manaca spent nearly two decades based in Madrid, from 2002 to 2021, using the Spanish capital as a touring base before returning to Porto, a move that reflects a career built across the Iberian peninsula rather than confined to Portugal alone. His SoundCloud and radio profiles show a house-focused sound shaped by his residency years, with mixes that continue to circulate through the Magna Recordings platform. The combination of early club residencies, a self-run label, and a long-running radio show gives Manaca a documented career spanning nearly four decades in Iberian house music.
