Butch — Techno & Psychedelic DJ & Producer

Bulent Gurler, who performs as Butch, is a German DJ and producer of Turkish descent from Mainz who realized his love of DJing at age 12 and, as a teenager, had to beg, borrow and scrape together the money to buy his first set of turntables. He built his reputation on fluid, cut-free sets that move from Eastern-inspired psychedelia to prime-time techno using elongated breakdowns and loops, and he now calls Ibiza home after building his career on the road, drawing on the island's Balearic energy. He is a regular performer at Circoloco at DC-10 and at Robert Johnson, and frequently plays back-to-back sets with peers, including releases and gigs alongside Ricardo Villalobos under the alias ButRic. His discography spans labels including Rekids, Innervisions, Diynamic, Studio Barnhus, Turbo Recordings, Crosstown Rebels, Desolat and Cocoon, and he has been remixed by Maceo Plex, Keinemusik and Guti. His versatility has earned him Best Producer honors two years running from Raveline and Groove Magazine, along with two Ibiza DJ Awards, cementing his standing as a DJ who moves fluidly between styles rather than settling on one sound.
