Breathe Carolina is an American electronic act formed in Denver, Colorado, in 2007. Founded by David Schmitt and Kyle Even, the project is now made up of Schmitt and Tommy Cooperman. Its history crosses electronic rock, EDM, electropop, crunkcore, post-hardcore, emo, electro house and progressive house, giving its DJ-facing work a broad stylistic base rather than a single fixed lane. That genre range has remained a defining part of its identity as the act moved through different chapters.
Breathe Carolina began with Rise Records in 2008 and 2009, then signed with Fearless Records in 2009 and Columbia Records in 2011. It later worked with Spinnin' Records in 2015 and 2019, while also releasing through Armada, Big Beat, Zouk Recordings and Enhanced Music. The group has been a returning performer at So What?! Music Festival, a documented live setting for its crossover approach.
In 2018, Breathe Carolina collaborated with Lucas & Steve and Sunstars on Do It Right. From its Denver formation onward, the act has continually connected rock-derived energy with electronic and house-focused material, making versatility central to the way it is presented to audiences. The act is also documented on dance-festival lineups, supporting its inclusion as a DJ-facing electronic project.
