About Bob Sinclar

Bob Sinclar is the Paris-born French DJ and producer Christophe Le Friant, a longtime figure in house music who first DJed in 1980s Paris as Chris the French Kiss. He adopted the Bob Sinclar name in 1998, drawing it from the film Le Magnifique, and became closely associated with the French touch house sound. His records are known for sampled and filtered disco strings, dance-floor hooks and an ethos he describes as peace, love and house music.

He worked through earlier projects including The Mighty Bop and Reminiscence Quartet before building a wide-reaching catalogue under the Sinclar alias, from The Beat Goes On to Love Generation, World, Hold On, Rock This Party and Lala Song. His DJ activity remains visible on major stages: in 2025 he appeared on Tomorrowland Belgium's Mainstage and played a back-to-back set there with his daughter Paloma. Sinclar owns Yellow Productions and has also released through Defected and Spinnin' Records.

His awards include the 2006 TMF Award for Best Dance International in Belgium, and he is listed as a World Music Awards winner. He has remixed artists including Madonna, Rihanna, James Brown, Jamiroquai and Moby. Across decades, Sinclar has carried French house from his early Paris DJ identity to festival-scale sets while retaining a distinctly celebratory, disco-informed feel.
