Blasterjaxx

Blasterjaxx are Dutch DJs Thom Jongkind and Idir Makhlaf, a duo from The Hague active since 2010. Their work is rooted in big room and electro house, and their early ascent came through the Reborn EP in 2012, signed to Laidback Luke's Mixmash, followed by Loud & Proud in 2013 on Tiësto's Musical Freedom. They became especially associated with high-impact festival programming through performances at Tomorrowland and Ultra.

In 2015, Makhlaf stopped touring because of panic attacks but continued producing, leaving Jongkind to carry the duo's live-facing work while the partnership continued creatively. Blasterjaxx established Maxximize Records as their own label and have also released through Spinnin', Armada and Revealed. Their DJ Mag Top 100 story moved from a new entry at 71st in 2013 to a best position of 13th in 2014.

A notable festival connection came when they remixed United, the official Ultra Music Festival anthem, with Tiësto. Jongkind has also made techno under the alias THOMM since 2024. The Blasterjaxx identity remains grounded in the broad, forceful energy of big room, with label-building and collaborations reinforcing an approach designed for large-scale dance-music settings.
