Big Gigantic

Big Gigantic is the Boulder, Colorado duo of saxophonist and DJ Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken, whose blend of instrumental hip-hop, jazz and electronic dance music built a following that grew from opening for Sound Tribe Sector 9 side projects at Boulder's Fox Theatre into headline tours alongside acts including Pretty Lights and Bassnectar. Lalli, who holds a master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music, plays saxophone live over his own DJ and production work, a combination that distinguishes Big Gigantic's sets from more conventional two-turntable electronic acts, while Salken provides drums as a touring musician and instructor.

The duo emerged during the MySpace era of underground electronic promotion, building their early audience through free downloads before growing into a headlining act capable of selling out venues including Red Rocks Amphitheatre in their home state. Their sound crosses jam-band, hip-hop and EDM festival circuits, giving them a broad booking base spanning traditional dance festivals and the American jam-scene touring circuit alike.

Lalli's jazz training and Salken's live drumming keep the act's DJ-and-instrument hybrid format central to their identity, distinguishing Big Gigantic from studio-only electronic producers. The duo has sustained more than a decade of consistent touring built on that live instrumentation-plus-DJ format.
