Bicep
Bicep, the Belfast-born, London-based DJ and production duo of Matthew McBriar and Andrew Ferguson, are childhood friends who bonded over dance music from the age of eight. In 2008 they launched the blog Feel My Bicep to showcase forgotten Chicago house, Detroit techno, disco and Italo disco rarities, a project that grew to over 100,000 monthly visitors and spawned both a club night and a record label bearing the same name.
Their early DJ work saw them playing individually as Feel My Bicep across Europe and Asia before reuniting in London to focus on original production. The duo released tracks on Throne of Blood, Traveller Records and Mystery Meat, then joined Will Saul's Aus Music before establishing their own label, Feel My Bicep, in September 2012, later shortened to Bicep.
Their DJ sets reflect the eclecticism built through years of crate-digging and blog curation, spanning house, breakbeat and electronica textures drawn from their record collecting roots. The trefoil logo Matt McBriar designed for the blog became one of underground dance music's recognizable symbols, and the duo has continued building their reputation as both curators and performers on the international club circuit since their 2009 formation.
