About Ben Klock
Ben Klock, born 1972 in Schöneberg, West Berlin, is a German techno DJ who has held a residency at Berghain, the Berlin club that became synonymous with his stripped-back, suspense-laden style, since the club's early years. Active as a DJ since 1998, Klock founded the techno label Klockworks in 2006, an imprint tied closely to his DJ sets, and releases through Ostgut Ton, Berghain's in-house label, as well as LAYER. His mix series output spans more than a decade, including RA.063 in 2007, Fact Mix 31 in 2009, two CLR Podcast entries that same year, the Berghain 04 compilation in 2010, Trax 141 also in 2010, a further CLR Podcast in 2011 and Fabric 66 in 2012. Klock recorded a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix in 2015, a milestone that extended his reputation beyond Berlin's club scene to a global radio audience, and he also contributed an untitled mix to Mixmag in 2016. Coda Music credits him with commanding, meticulously timed DJ performances that run alongside his lean techno productions, and his decades-long Berghain residency remains the defining anchor of a DJ career built on sustained, marathon-length club sets rather than short festival slots.
