Azax Syndrom

Azax Syndrom, born Regev Azaria in Israel, worked for several years as a DJ within the psytrance scene before turning to production, beginning original work in 2003 and releasing his first collaborative track, Voice of Madness, with Psychotic Micro later that same year. He went on to co-found Nutek Records with fellow producer CPU, building the imprint into one of the more prominent labels within the psytrance genre and using it as a platform for his own catalogue and that of other artists on the scene.

His DJ career grew alongside his production work, with sets built around the psychedelic trance sound that first drew him into electronic music in his home country. He has continued to collaborate with other producers within the genre, including work with BLiSS, and has discussed the possibility of extending that partnership with further joint releases.

Azax Syndrom's standing within the psytrance world rests on the combination of his DJ sets, his production catalogue and his role co-running Nutek Records, a label that has helped define a specific strand of Israeli psytrance since the early 2000s. His career reflects the tightly linked relationship between DJing, production and label-running that characterizes much of the psytrance scene from which he emerged.
