Arty — Trance & Progressive House DJArty
Arty, born Artem Stolyarov in Engels, Russia, on 28 September 1989, is a DJ and producer who also performs as Alpha 9. He trained at music school as a child before turning to FL Studio production, later studying applied mathematics and computer science at Saratov State University while building his early releases.
His single Bliss appeared on Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance compilation in 2009, and Above & Beyond signed him to their Anjunabeats label after featuring his tracks Rush and The Wonder in club sets and on their radio show Trance Around the World. That exposure helped establish him internationally as both a producer and touring DJ, and he went on to collaborate on record and in the studio with artists including Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, BT, Paul van Dyk, Mat Zo and Matisse & Sadko.
His 2011 track Trio with Matisse & Sadko was released on Axwell's Axtone label. Arty's debut album Glorious arrived in 2015 and reached number 14 on the US Dance/Electronic Albums chart, and he has toured on festival stages across the trance and progressive house circuit, playing under both the Arty and Alpha 9 names depending on the tone of the set.
