Anne Savage

Anne Savage, born July 18, 1969, in Burnley, Lancashire, is a British hard dance DJ whose career began with her first UK residency at Angels in Burnley before she moved on to a residency at Leeds' Vague Club. She was part of the original Tidy Girls lineup alongside Lisa Lashes, Lisa Pin-Up, and Rachel Auburn, a collective that became central to the UK hard house scene through the Tidy label's parties and compilations.

Savage made regular appearances at major hard dance events including Tidy, Slinky, Frenzy, and Storm, club nights and touring brands that defined the genre's live circuit through the 1990s and 2000s. She featured multiple times in DJ Magazine's “World's Top 100 DJs” list and was the only woman named in The Independent on Sunday's “Top 10 Club DJs in Britain,” recognitions that marked her as a leading figure in a male-dominated scene.

Her singles “I Need A Man,” which reached number six on the UK dance singles chart in April 2000, and “Hellraiser,” which hit number 74 on the UK Singles Chart in 2003, extended her reach from the DJ booth into chart recognition. Before her DJ career, Savage played guitar in a punk band called 53rd State in the late 1980s.
