Angerfist — Hardcore & Gabber DJAngerfist
Danny Masseling, known as Angerfist, is a Dutch hardcore and gabber DJ from Denekamp. He began making music at 16 and entered the scene in 2001 after sending a demo to Mark Vos, also known as DJ Buzz Fuzz, director of BZRK Records. His DJ persona is instantly associated with a white hockey mask and black hoodie. The mask began as a response to stage fright, then remained as a lasting visual emblem inspired by Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees.
Musically, Angerfist is known for distorted kicks, aggressive vocals sampled from media and forceful bass drums, generally at 180 to 200 BPM. He has performed across the harder-styles circuit at Sensation Black, Masters of Hardcore, Defqon.1, Knockout Outdoor, Mysteryland, Thunderdome and Dominator, and has also appeared at EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, Electric Love and Ultra Music Festival. He is associated with the Masters of Hardcore label and has worked in groups including The Supreme Team, Masters Elite, Roland & Sherman and Bloodcage. A Diabolic Dice release event took place at AFAS Live in 2019.
More recently, he has entered hard-techno collaborations under the M4ZE PUSHER alias. Angerfist's enduring DJ identity rests on a combination of uncompromising tempo, hard-edged performance design and a long connection to hardcore audiences.
