About Andy C

Andy C is Andrew Michael Clarke, a drum and bass DJ who began playing at raves in Essex around the age of fourteen or fifteen before co-founding RAM Records with Ant Miles in 1992. He became a resident DJ at two of London's most significant clubs for the genre, The End and Fabric, building a reputation for pioneering fast, technical three-deck vinyl mixing that became a benchmark for drum and bass DJing. His mix CD Nightlife 5 captured that live mixing style for a wider audience, documenting the set structure that made his club nights a draw beyond London.

In 2019, DJ Mag recognised him with the Top 100 DJs poll's Highest Drum and Bass Award after he climbed eleven places to number 79, a rare instance of drum and bass breaking into the broader mainstream rankings. Andy C has used RAM Records as a direct extension of his DJ sets, breaking new artists and tracks that then anchor his own festival and club performances internationally. His technical mixing style, honed over more than three decades, has been cited repeatedly by other DJs and outlets such as MusicRadar and EDM World Magazine as a reference point for drum and bass turntablism.

Clarke's career spans from underground rave stages to major festival headline slots, sustained by his ongoing residencies and RAM Records output.
