Andrew Rayel
Andrew Rayel, born Andrei Rață on 21 July 1992, is a Moldovan trance DJ and producer whose electronic music career began in 2009 at age 17, four years after he first started producing and developing his sound in 2005. His breakthrough came when his single “Aether” was voted Tune of the Week on Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance radio program, a platform he has continued to appear on through numerous A State of Trance events and tours.
Rayel's rise through DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll was rapid, entering at number 77 in 2012 before jumping to number 28 in 2013, a climb that earned him the “highest climber” title that year, and reaching number 24 in 2014. Signed initially to Armin van Buuren's Armada Music, Rayel later founded his own label to support his output as his profile grew within the trance scene.
Often described in industry coverage as one of Moldova's most prominent musical exports, he has built his career around A State of Trance's promotional ecosystem, translating radio support into a touring career that spans major trance festivals internationally. His combination of production work and a fast-rising DJ Mag ranking through the early 2010s marked him as one of the trance genre's more visible younger artists during that period.
