Andrea Roma
Andrea Roma, born Andrea Passaretti, is an Italian minimal techno DJ and producer who began studying piano at age ten before moving into local discotheque DJ sets and small event organizing. He earned a sound engineering diploma in 2005 and joined Mystika Records the following year, working first as a DJ and producer before becoming the label's artistic director as it grew into a significant presence in the Italian market by 2008.
His remix of Deep Fear reached number one on Beatport's main chart in 2009 and was later used in television commercials internationally, while his 2011 track Pi Pi Pi topped Beatport's minimal chart for more than three months and earned him votes for best artist of the year from the platform's users. Roma founded Human Garden Group, a company spanning a record label, an artist management agency and a clothing line, following that run of chart success, and has worked with Armada Music since 2013.
His catalog includes releases through Toolroom Records, 1605, Noir Music and Bosphorus Underground, spanning minimal and techno styles built for club play. Roma continues to tour internationally as a DJ while running Human Garden Music alongside his production work.
