Aly El Sayed Amr Fathalah and Fadi Wassef Naguib, known as Aly & Fila, are a Cairo-born Egyptian trance duo and the first Egyptian duo to reach international success. Friends since kindergarten, they began producing together in 1999 and signed to Euphonic Records in 2003. Their DJ identity is built around uplifting, vocal and progressive trance, with Future Sound of Egypt becoming the central name around their music and events.
Future Sound of Egypt operates both as a radio show and as FSOE Recordings, the label founded in 2009 and merged with Armada in 2010. The duo have appeared at Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Global Gathering and Luminosity Beach Festival. A landmark home-country event came with FSOE 200 at Echo Temple in Sharm El Sheikh on 2 December 2011.
Their work has also been recognised on Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance, where four of their tracks were named Tune of the Year in 2011, 2016, 2020 and 2021. Aly later suffered a severe ear injury, and Fadi now handles touring. That change has not diminished the importance of the partnership's name: through FSOE, their radio presence, label activity and festival performances have helped give Egyptian trance a lasting international platform.
