Alexander Popov
Alexander Popov, born Aleksandr Vitalyevich Popov in Saratov, Russia, on April 2, 1986, is a trance and progressive house DJ who has built a career spanning hundreds of club shows across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas. He founded Interplay Records in 2017 as a sublabel of a major Dutch record company, an outlet that also hosts his long-running “Interplay Radioshow,” which had passed episode 574 as of recent uploads, giving him a consistent platform to showcase his selections beyond live bookings.
Popov performed at Tomorrowland in both 2024 and 2025, calling his second appearance a “special moment and a big honor” to play one of the world's most prominent festivals for a second time. His annual “Interplay” compilation series continues to compile tracks tied to his label and radio show, reinforcing the connection between his curatorial radio work and his club and festival DJ sets.
As a Dutch-label-affiliated Russian DJ, Popov's career illustrates the internationalized structure of modern trance, with production, radio, and touring operations spanning multiple countries under a single artist banner. He remains an active festival and club performer within the global trance and progressive house circuit.
