Alex Niggemann
Alex Niggemann is a German house, indie dance, and techno DJ, producer, and label owner from Düsseldorf who began his DJ career at 15 in clubs around his hometown, including the Düsseldorf venue mk-2. He moved to Berlin in 2005 to study audio engineering, a decision that laid the technical foundation for his later production career and coincided with his shift toward studio work. His first notable release came during his studies, a remix of Booker Shade's Darko put out on Get Physical Music in 2006, work that led to occasional collaborations with that label and Berlin DJ-T. After completing his degree in 2008, Niggemann released early singles and EPs including Assign Me and Circles, catching the attention of established artists such as Audiofly and Nick Curly, whose labels issued his Black Rose EP and Makayuni/El Hechizo the following year. Since establishing himself in Berlin's house and techno scene, Niggemann has continued to tour and release music that bridges deep house and techno sensibilities, building his profile through label relationships developed during his formative Berlin years rather than a singular breakout hit.
