Alex di Stefano
Alex Di Stefano is an Italian DJ and producer born in 1977 who has spent more than two decades moving between techno and trance, largely based out of the Altromondo Studios club in Rimini. He broke through in the early nineties with tracks including "Thinkin' About You," which received wide acclaim across Europe, before relocating to Rimini in 2002, a shift that reshaped his production style. A standout DJ performance at the Cocoricò club in 2002 raised his profile significantly, and he subsequently joined Digital Team Studio in Rimini, releasing records there for four years.
In 2007 he moved to a solo career, developing what he describes as a tech-trance sound that blends the tougher, industrial textures of techno with the melodic structures of trance. His releases have appeared on labels including JOOF Recordings, Outburst Records, Respekt Recordings and 1605, drawing support from artists such as Richie Hawtin, Armin van Buuren and Max Graham. Di Stefano managed the label Binary404 until 2014 and launched his own imprint, Drum Chapel Records, in 2023, refocusing on techno and reconnecting with his production roots.
He continues to play regular club dates across Europe, and his catalog spans releases such as "Mizar," "Volcan" and "Blue Waves," anchoring his reputation as a specialist DJ working between the two genres.
