Alan Olav Walker, known as Alan Walker, is a Norwegian DJ and record producer born in Northampton, England, to a British father and Norwegian mother. He moved to Fana in Bergen at age two and holds dual British and Norwegian nationality. Formerly DJ Walkzz, he began as a bedroom producer and released Fade through NoCopyrightSounds at 17. The December 2015 breakthrough Faded reached 80 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and became triple-platinum in the United States.
Walker's DJ sound takes in electro house, house, future house, future bass, big room, progressive house and electropop, usually shaped by emotionally rich, grand melodies, darker minor-key tonality and video-game-inspired motifs. His hoodie and mask preserve anonymity, while his A/W logo dates to 2013. In 2016 he staged two Alan Walker is Heading Home concerts at USF Verftet in Bergen, and later identified Coachella and Tomorrowland as career highlights. DJ Mag placed him 55th as a 2016 new entry, and he rose to 11th in 2023.
