Afrojack — Dutch House & Big Room DJAfrojack
Nick Leonardus van de Wall, known as Afrojack, is a Dutch DJ from Spijkenisse, born to a Dutch mother and Surinamese father. He began DJing in pubs and clubs at 14, released In Your Face in 2007 and developed from minimal-leaning material toward Dutch house, electro house and big-room production. His sets also take in house, progressive house and trap, making his festival approach broader than a single style.
Afrojack has played major stages at Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival and Coachella, establishing a sustained international festival presence. In 2021, he performed at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. His BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix in July 2010 gave an early radio platform to his DJ profile.
The same year as his first release, he founded Wall Recordings, creating a label base alongside his work as CEO of LDH Europe. Afrojack won a Grammy for Best Remixed Recording in 2011 and was named MTV EMA Best Dutch Act in 2012. From early pub and club sets to major international festival stages, he has maintained a DJ identity built on the evolving connection between Dutch house and large-room dance music.
