Adam Freeland — Breakbeat DJ, Producer & Label Owner

Adam Freeland is an English DJ and producer born in Welwyn Garden City who built his early reputation as a resident in Brighton before hosting a Friday-night show on London's Kiss 100 FM from 1999 to 2001, a platform that helped spread his nu-skool breakbeat sound. His mix series, including Coastal Breaks Volumes 1 and 2, Tectonics, On Tour and Two Hours to Jupiter, alongside a 2004 entry in the FabricLive series and a 2007 Global Underground release recorded in Mexico City, trace a DJ career that moved from radio residency into some of dance music's most respected mix-album franchises. Freeland is also the owner and creative director of the label Marine Parade, which released music from Evil Nine, ILS, Alex Metric and Jape, giving him a platform to support other breakbeat and electronic artists alongside his own output. His 2005 compilation Back to Mine added his name to a series known for showcasing DJs' personal listening tastes beyond the club. Across more than two decades, Freeland's combination of radio residency, mix-series output and label ownership has kept him closely tied to the UK breakbeat scene he helped define at the turn of the millennium.
