3lau — Electronic Dance Music DJ & Producer3lau
3LAU, the stage name of Justin Blau, is an American DJ and producer born in Syosset, New York, who moved to Las Vegas at age 13 and discovered electronic dance music while vacationing in Sweden in 2011 at age 20. He began producing mashups after returning to Washington University in St. Louis, uploading his early work to YouTube by June 2011 while DJing at night as a student before his profile grew beyond campus clubs.
He launched the 3lau Your Mind tour in 2012 and later toured with Carnage on the Night Riot tour, building a live circuit that carried him through his first European tour, spanning Barcelona, Germany and Ibiza in summer 2015, and his first Asian tour that fall, covering Bangkok, Jakarta and Tokyo. He performed at Ultra Music Festival in Miami in March 2019 and announced OMF, billed as the first blockchain-powered music festival, on 21 June 2018; the event was held in San Francisco that October, headlined by Zedd. In January 2025 he performed at Donald Trump's second Inaugural Ball, and later that year he began releasing music under his birth name, Justin Blau, marking a shift after roughly fourteen years performing as 3LAU.
His career spans college-circuit DJ sets, international festival touring and a pioneering blockchain-music venture within the electronic dance touring world.
