2000 and One

2000 and One, born Dylan Hermelijn in Amsterdam on 9 February 1971, is a Dutch DJ and producer whose stage name derives from his former bank PIN code. Inspired by acid house in the late 1980s, Hermelijn made his first production at seventeen and became, in the early 1990s, one of the first live performing artists within the emerging techno scene under the 2000 and One name.

In 1993 he co-founded the label 100% Pure with his friend Sandy Huner, an imprint that later became a foundation for the careers of Orlando Voorn and Steve Rachmad as well as his own. The label paused operations toward the end of the 1990s when Hermelijn pursued a business career outside music, before he returned to producing around 2004, drawn back in by the emerging minimal techno movement.

His artist album Heritage was released on CD and vinyl in March 2009, marking his return to sustained studio output. Hermelijn has performed at Awakenings, one of the Netherlands' flagship techno festivals, reflecting his standing within the country's techno scene across three distinct decades of activity, from his early 1990s live-techno period through his mid-2000s comeback and into his continued releases on his own label.
