1200 Micrograms
1200 Micrograms is a psychedelic trance act based in Ibiza whose lineup has included Riktam and Bansi of GMS alongside Raja Ram and Chicago, with releases dating from 1999 to the early 2010s. Recording almost exclusively for TIP World, the group built a catalogue running from its self-titled 2002 debut through Heroes of the Imagination in 2003, The Time Machine in 2004, Live in Brazil in 2005 and the remix set 1200 Micrograms Remixed in 2006, continuing through Magic Numbers in 2007 and later releases including the Gramology EP in 2010 and 1200 Mic's in 2013. The group's sound leans on prominent guitar work layered over psytrance structures, with track and album concepts often referencing the members' own experiences with psychedelics, an approach reflected in the accompanying 2003 video for Marijuana. Based out of Ibiza's trance scene, 1200 Micrograms became a recurring name on the psytrance festival and release circuit through the 2000s, with Live in Brazil documenting the act's international touring reach during that period. While specific club residencies and festival bookings are not extensively documented, the group's decade-plus run of studio and live albums on a single dedicated label marks it as a sustained presence within European psytrance.
