Sean Tyas

Sean Tyas, born 8 November 1979 in Massapequa Park, New York, is a trance DJ whose career began in 2006 after Sander van Doorn selected his entry as the winner of a remix contest, having spent the prior years producing under MS-DOS software before moving to Germany and then Switzerland, where he now lives. Tyas has played major trance-circuit clubs including Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound, Avalon Hollywood and Privilege Ibiza, and he has performed at Tomorrowland, A State of Trance, Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival and Electric Zoo. He hosts Tytanium Sessions, an internet radio show that evolved from earlier programs he ran called The Wednesday Whistle and Phased Out Phriday, broadcasting monthly on Digitally Imported's trance channel, di.fm/trance, and distributed as a podcast through the iTunes Store. He has also recorded a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, one of the genre's benchmark broadcast slots. Years active are listed from 1999 to the present, spanning his early production work through his rise on the international trance festival circuit, where his sets remain built around the driving, big-room trance sound that first brought him to prominence through the Sander van Doorn-backed remix win.
