Isaac
Isaac, the stage name of Roel Schutrups, is a Dutch producer and DJ recognized as one of the pioneers of hardstyle music. He began producing under the Isaac name in 1995, initially working in hardcore before helping shape the emerging hardstyle sound alongside a small group of early innovators. His tracks On the Edge and Go Insane are considered catalysts for hardstyle's international breakthrough, drawing new producers to the harder styles of Dutch dance music.
Schutrups founded his own label, X-Rate Records, in 2003, running it for nearly a decade before joining Dirty Workz in 2012 and later signing to Scantraxx in September 2019. His profile as a headliner has taken him to Electric Daisy Carnival, Defqon.1 Festival, Qlimax and Decibel Outdoor, among the largest hardstyle and hard dance events in the world, and his international bookings have spanned the United States, Colombia, Australia, Japan, Chile, Russia, Canada and South Africa. Earlier in his career he was involved with the trance project Alice Deejay, which achieved gold and platinum sales worldwide.
Other producers, including Dash Berlin, Martin Garrix and Showtek, have sought remixes from his studio, reflecting his standing within the harder dance production community over more than two decades.
