Chris Liebing
Christopher Liebing is a German techno DJ, producer and label founder born in Gießen, Hesse. Active on Frankfurt's dance scene from the early 1990s, he opened the Spinclub techno club in 1994 and also worked at Eye Q Records. Those formative years led to the launch of Audio in 1996 and CLR in 1999, labels that became central outlets for his techno work.
Liebing's DJ career has taken him to Space and Amnesia in Ibiza, Fabric in London, Berghain in Berlin and Cocoricò in Riccione, as well as Time Warp. His approach is rooted in techno, shaped by his club and label experience in Frankfurt and developed across international rooms and festivals. In 2009, he brought that curatorial role to the CLR Podcast, a long-running series that reached 315 episodes by 2015 and featured guests including Martin Gore of Depeche Mode.
He then continued the weekly format with am/fm. While his wider catalogue includes the concept album Evolution, the collaboration Collabs 3000: Metalism with Speedy J and the 2018 Mute album Burn Slow, his public contribution remains closely linked to sustained DJ programming and label work. More recently, he remixed Depeche Mode's Ghosts Again in 2023, maintaining a connection between his techno practice and a broader electronic audience.
